What’s Available
Throughout the year, the Ottawa County Conservation District offers seasonal plants and gardening resources for our community. Availability varies by season, with orders available for select varieties of seed potatoes, trees, and the Clyde Garden Planner.

Clyde's Garden Planner
Take the guesswork out of when to plant your garden. Clyde’s Garden Planner is an easy-to-use vegetable planting chart that helps gardeners determine planting times based on frost dates. Simply adjust the planner to your area’s frost date to find recommended planting windows for a variety of garden vegetables.

What’s Available
Each year, the Ottawa County Conservation District accepts seasonal orders for seed potatoes and pollinator trees and shrubs. Online ordering opens in December and remains available through mid-January. The Order button will appear on this page when ordering is open. OCCD also offers the Clyde’s Garden Planner, which is available for purchase year-round.
Preordering is encouraged. A limited quantity of seed potatoes, trees, and shrubs may be available after the preorder period, but availability is not guaranteed.

When can I place a seasonal order?
Seasonal orders for seed potatoes and pollinator trees and shrubs are accepted during January each year. Clyde’s Garden Planners are available for purchase year-round.
How do I place an order?
The easiest way to place your seasonal order is through the online order form on this page. Orders can also be placed by calling OCCD or stopping by the office.
Do I pay when I submit my order?
No. Payment is due when you pick up your order.
When and where do I pick up my order?
Seasonal orders are picked up at the OCCD office, located in the USDA Service Center in Minneapolis, during our annual free Seed Swap in March.
Can I order multiple varieties or larger quantities?
Yes. You can order multiple varieties and quantities based on your needs. Seed potatoes may be ordered in quantities starting at 1 lb, with discounted pricing available for full 50 lb bags.
Pollinator trees and shrubs are available individually or in quantities based on pollination needs. Some varieties may require two or more plants for cross-pollination. Larger orders are also welcome.
Are quantities limited?
Preordering is the best way to ensure you receive the varieties and quantities you want. A limited number of additional items are typically available for purchase at OCCD’s annual free Seed Swap in March, but availability is not guaranteed.
